The season start has not come too soon for the Basel men’s teams, after a short summer pause after the 7s season. Most of the guys have kept up their fitness levels between the seasons. The switch back to 15s is welcome, especially with the arrival of the world cup. The training ground behaviour of South African peacocks, French coqs and proud Kiwis has brought a competitive spirit not seen for a long time. With the World Cup happening nearby, it's a great opportunity to showcase the game we all love to the city.

Both the Future Team and 1st teams have started with healthy numbers for the coming season, with a welcome mix of the teams’ core from 2022-23, new starters, and some returning stars. Preseason has gone well. This season we play all our matches together in double headers, which is great for both squads. The Future Team are also returning to the Swiss cup, which we won several years ago.

There’s a good feeling about the squads with a lot of potential ready to be shown on the pitch!

New players of all levels are always welcome to join and try, we’re a friendly group!
